Hay Bars’ introduction has truly revolutionised a lot of large yards. The initial investment is quickly recouped by reduced waste and reduction in ‘man hours’ spent laboriously filling hay nets. Hay and haylage are the recognised feed but now we have even more choice with many different bagged forage products designed to cater for horses with various feeding problems. COPD, laminitics, dental abnormalities and horses with digestive problems all benefit from bagged forage. How to contain these chop like forages is made easier with Hay Bar. The new version Pony Hay Bar is ideal as it is even easier to clean out when feeding these hay replacements. Feeding from the floor in the natural position is an aid to maintaining clear sinuses and helps to alleviate back and neck problems. Dental abnormalities are seen far less frequently in horses fed from Hay Bars. Both horse and owner benefit from the Hay Bar system, and with the reduced labour costs and reduction in waste of both bedding and forage, make it an investment that more than pays for itself. Hay Bar makes one think. Trainer Magazine Hay Bar was first introduced some eighteen months ago to make it possible to feed from the floor in the natural position without contaminating the forage and creating unnecessary waste. Feeding Race, competition horses and youngstock has almost become a science. We all spend time planning our horses diet to ensure that our horses get a good balanced diet to match their life style with all the additives required. But do we ever stop to think how we feed them? Tradition has dictated racks normally to be filled from over head hay barns. Then we moved on to nets, cheaper, very practical when travelling and very versatile, but did we ever think what we were doing raising our horses heads from the floor to feed? Nature designed her Equines to graze from the ground not the hedge. When a horse raises his head to feed he put his jaw out of alignment which in the long term effects the wear on his teeth and in time creates dental abnormalities. The raised feeding position encourages him to bolt his food and this in turn can lead to digestive problems and sometimes colic. If the food is not being chewed properly and taken too quickly it also means he is not getting the full benefit of what he is being fed. The raised head when feeding encourages the lower neck muscles to be exaggerated and the top ones to be under developed thus spoiling the top line. This in turn effects the airways as they are not draining down as required and in time this can damage the sinuses and the respiratory tract. The lowered head when grazing utilises the back muscles correctly and this in turn help to ensure that a lot of back problems are avoided. The list of reasons for feeding a horse from the floor is endless – the reasons for feeding from the wall are purely ones of convenience. The stabled horse deserves to be fed from the floor if only to try to emulate his natural environment for a confined space in a stable is far from normal for the horse. Hay Bars introduction has not only benefited our horses but has also helped to reduce the costs of running a large yard. Labour time is reduced plus the saving on wasted forage and bedding. Hay Bar truly is the way forward

Hay Bar has had a very successful spring, Blansby Park the Hay Bar horse has qualified for the Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead and Hay Bar has gone international with new retail outlets in Ireland, Sweden, Norway and Spain. Raylia Dugmore M.D of Park Feeders travelled to Gothenburg in Sweden for their spring show to support K. A Trading launch Hay Bar. “The Swedish people mainly feed their horses from the floor so Hay Bar was given a warm reception as the solution to the problem of hay and bedding becoming mixed.” Park Feeders wishes their new international outlets and Blansby Park every success in the future.
HAY BAR GOES POLO
Hay Bar has now broken into the world of polo. Large yards with lots of ponies are not always labour intensive and so it has not taken long for the yard managers to appreciate the huge advantage of using Hay Bars.Keeping ponies fit is of utmost importance and the advantages of feeding from the floor are numerous, but also the money saved by cutting down on waste forage and wasted bedding has made it obvious that Hay Bar is the way forward. One of the yards recently converted to Hay Bars belongs to the Brett family. “We experimented with two Hay Bars and it soon became obvious that the time and hay saved through their use made it imperative that we furnish all our stables with a Hay Bar. In a busy polo yard they are invaluable. We thoroughly recommend them.” Margaret Brett Editor of Polo Times. Park Feeders would like to wish Henry Brett and the British Polo team every success in the coming season.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Hay Bar Helps the Pros
Hay Bar was first seen in June of last year. The impact it made was to say the least impressive. The initial advertising was aimed at making the name known. Very quickly the professional world recognised that here was a very simple product that solved numerous problems. Soon the endorsements came flooding in. Equine dentists welcomed it for aiding jaw alignment and helping an even wear pattern on the teeth. Physiotherapists recommended the Hay Bar as the grazing position helps to ease many back problems and encourages the correct use of neck muscles. Helping to improve top line and discouraging development of the ugly lower neck. The veterinary profession encourages its use as the airways drain down and this in turn helps keep the respiratory tract and sinuses clear. Yvonne Tyson and her daughter Sarah from the world of Endurance Riding are experts at producing fit and sound horses well into their teens. Sarah recently represented her country in Dubai in the FEI World Endurance Championships and was the sole British completion on Derek Francis’ 17yr old grey Arab gelding Simbar. They completed 100 miles in 11hrs with an average speed of 10 mph. Yvonne and Sarah purchased Hay Bars for their 20 plus yard last year initially to save on time filling nets – mucking out and waste both of fodder and bedding. They soon realised what a difference the new feeding system was making to their horses. The horses became more relaxed and content – their neck muscles improved giving a more relaxed front of neck. The natural feeding position also helped to keep them right in their wind and the general improvement was for both the horses and the workforce. All this plus money saved on time and fodder. The Tysons are just one example of how Hay Bar has made a huge difference in both large and small yards. It is essential that we try to reproduce a natural environment for our stabled horses as only this will keep them both sane and sound.
Hay Bars Birthday At Boyton Hall
Twelve months have passed since Hay Bar was first introduced. We have now established beyond doubt that it is a product that helps the equine industry in many ways. Top trainers are installing Hay Bar for numerous reasons. The time and waste it saves is a help to most yards but more importantly the numerous advantages of the natural feeding position assist the trainer to produce horses that are performing at optimum level. Park Feeders has recently won yet another order from a rehabilitation yard. Jann Turner Physiotherapist at Boyton Hall Equine Centre in Norfolk has insisted that all stables will be fitted with the Hay Bar, as she states, “I believe this product is an excellent way to feed a stabled horse. A horse should eat the way the body was designed, with the neck and back stretched through its top line to a low level and the teeth and jaw working in a natural position.” Any product that makes life easier for the horse owner and actually benefits the horse has got to be progress and this certainly is. Hay Bar is now also available for ponies.

HAY BAR CATERS FOR THE PONY WORLD.
Hay Bar has done it again but this time with a smaller Hay Bar for the ponies.
“Public demand for a smaller version of the Hay Bar has at last been met. The pony world has demanded that we make a smaller version of Hay Bar and that is exactly what we have done.” Raylia C Dugmore of Park Feeders Ltd. stated “We can now cater for both the large horses and the ponies.” All the advantages of using Hay Bar are passed on to the ponies plus the fact that even the smallest child can safely fill a Hay Bar with no risk of fingers being caught up in hay nets or ponies caught up in nets that are hung too low. Once again we can say that our natural way of feeding is “Far better for your ponies and far easier for you”
HAY BAR SHOWS THE WAY
The show season is looming up and it is a year since Hay Bar first went out on field trials. Sarah Amblers’ Endeavour was one guinea pig and his outstanding results Supreme Champion C.H.A.P.S. and B.S.P.S. last year only go to show how Hay Bar has helped to keep him in top form. The show world is forever looking for ways to improve their horses and feeding from Hay Bar certainly helps to improve the upper neck muscles and stops the development of ugly lower ones. A good top line certainly makes all the difference not only to a horses’ conformation but also the way he bridles and goes. Louise Gaunt bought Hay Bar last summer for Stan the Man to stop him wasting his forage. Louise soon realised the difference in top line and soon ordered Hay Bars for all her show horses. Stan certainly went on to prove the point when he went on to win the Heavyweight Cob of the Year at the Horse of the Year Show. Good luck this season to Endeavour and to Stan the Man from Park Feeders Ltd.
HAY BAR MAKES AN IMPRESSION ON THE DENTISTS
Hay Bars’ natural feeding position has received endorsements from the dental profession. Keith Evans Eq DT “I am convinced that I would see less dental problems in horses I treat if they were fed from the floor by use of the Hay Bar. It is common sense to get the horse to eat in the way that he is designed for. We impact the horses’ environment in so many ways it can only be of benefit to offer him some form of normality in his daily life. ” Wayne Abbott B.E.V.A./B.V.D.A. “One of the most important things I advise my clients is that horses benefit significantly from being able to eat at ground level when stabled. In my experience horses that are not fed from nets or racks maintain a far more balanced wear pattern to their teeth enabling them to grind properly and in turn gain full value from their food. The Hay Bar offers a practical solution to being able to provide hay/haylage in their stable and it also helps prevent bedding contamination” Hay Bar has truly improved the quality of life for horses and owners a like. At this time of year when horses are stabled for most of their day it is important to keep their environment as natural as possible. Hay Bar helps to make this possible and also save on time and waste.

HAY BAR FILLS THE CORNER IN THE MARKET.
Hay Bar has been welcomed by a huge sector in the equestrian market place. The simplicity and design features are making it popular with all disciplines. The veterinary profession have recognised its natural feeding position which aids horses with a respiratory problem. It helps to ensure that horses fed from the floor do not contaminate their food by mixing it with soiled bedding. The feeding position aids horses with back problems as they maintain a correct posture when feeding, which also aids their digestion as it slows down their intake. Equine dentists welcome Hay Bar as the feeding position enables correct jaw alignment. The show and dressage world praise it for helping to ensure that their horses do not develop lower neck muscles. The natural feeding position helps to ensure that the upper neck muscles develop correctly, which in turn helps the competition horse work in a correct outline. Hay Bar is now widely used in studs where safety and the correct development of the young horse is paramount. Foals and youngsters feed in the correct position which helps them to build the correct muscles. The pony world welcomes Hay Bar as it is not always possible for a child to fill and position a hay net at a reasonable height. The Hay Bar is easily filled with no chance of trapped fingers. Field trials and tried and tested have all proved that the Hay Bar has filled a corner in the equestrian world that had been neglected. Time saving it truly is one of the few products that is ‘Far Better For Your Horses and Far Easier For You’, and yet you have the peace of mind knowing that you are ‘Feeding As Nature Intended’.

HAY BAR FILLS THE CORNER IN THE MARKET
Hay Bar fills the corner in the stable and in the market. The response to Hay Bar has been quite amazing offering the feed from the floor natural feeding position with a safe strong design. Jonathan Dodds ( Racing Stud Manager Louella Stud ) a man whose concern is for the safety of his mares and their young foals, “Very good design”. Sarah Ambler top producer of hunters, riding horses, coloureds and m&ms. “Why has it taken so long to invent something like this?” Hay Bar is truly cornering the market ‘Feeding as Nature Intended. Far Better for Your Horses and Far Easier for You.’
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ HAY BAR SOLVES THE PROBLEM
The problem being how to feed horses forage as ‘NATURE INTENDED’ from the floor and in a manner, which is ‘FAR EASIER FOR YOU AND FAR BETTER FOR YOUR HORSES’ The HAY BAR system was originally devised to help a show hunter brood mare suffering from pneumonia. It encouraged her to eat from the floor and as a result helped drain down her airways. The mare recovered and we soon realised the HAY BAR system had numerous advantages. HAY BAR aids digestion as the forage is taken more slowly. HAY BAR saves waste, as the forage is far less likely to mix with the bedding. Mares, foals and youngstock benefit, as the HAY BAR is far safer than nets or racks. HAY BAR is quicker and easier to fill (even by a small child) and hence saves precious time. Raylia Dugmore, breeder and producer of hunters and riding horses to Horse of the Year standard, has designed the HAY BAR which is manufactured from HDPE. It has proved in field trials to be strong durable and very practical. The reaction from a number of knowledgeable contacts is that HAY BAR is the way forward and a much needed addition to equestrian products. The show and dressage worlds appreciate that this method of feeding improves top line as the upper neck muscles become more developed due to the natural feeding position. This all helps to explain the company slogan FEED AS NATURE INTENDED – FAR EASIER FOR YOU AND FAR BETTER FOR YOUR HORSES. Following extensive field trials Raylia has formed Park Feeders Ltd, of North Yorkshire to develop and market HAY BAR.
